DESCRIPTION:Duration2 day – face 2 face Thursday & Friday\, 29 & 30 October 2026Time09:00 – 16:30 each dayVenueLighthouse Resources Upstairs Training Room37 Kyabra Street RUNCORN\, QLD. 4113Target GroupThis workshop is designed for anyone who may be interested in the ideas of the strengths approach or seeking to be refreshed. This could include case managers\, counsellors\, youth workers\, guidance officers\, support workers\, social workers\, psychologists\, speech pathologists\, occupation therapists\, and/or workers from the field of disability\, housing\, domestic violence\, child protection\, education\, health and mental health.OutlineThis workshop will provide participants with a foundation for using the strengths-based approach. It will introduce participants to the beliefs and principles of this values-driven practice and make links between these and the skills and processes of the strengths approach.The training will be experiential and interactive\, with plenty of opportunities to reflect and have a go at using the ideas\, skills and tools in a spirit of play and experimentation.Examples from recent practice will be offered for reflection and discussion\, and attention will also be given to the opportunities and restraints participants may encounter in applying these ideas and practices in their own work contexts.
